IGP Ring Type Joint gaskets are precision machined from the Solid metal with close tolerance to be seated perfectly in the matching grooves machined in the mating flanges.

Hardness of the RTJ gaskets shall be essentially less than that of the respective mating flanges. The seating surface of the IGP Ring Type Joint gaskets will be machined to Octagonal or Oval shape. Machining of the Gasket seating surface with specific surface finish and dimensional accuracy is critical.

Ring Type Joint Gaskets are specially designed to seal the respective flange assembly joint by tightly seating and crushing with line contacts or by wedging and coining with crushing principle. This design ensures the gasket to deform under compression, creating a secured and robust seal.

As the flanges are tightly closed by applying sufficient bolt torque, the gasket is compressed and the seating area of the gasket flows, fills and fully adopts the contacting flange surface by enabling an exceptionally tight metal-to-metal seal capable of withstanding very high pressures.

This special joint design feature enables the Ring Type Joint gaskets highly dependable leak free seal for very high pressure and temperature and highly corrosive applications.

Standard Ring Type Joint Gasket

R Type

Standard R type Ring joint Gaskets of IGP are manufactured and supplied in compliance with both API 6A and ASME B16.20 size/ratings with Customer specified requirements. R type Ring Joint gaskets are available in both Oval and Octagonal cross sections.

Both types of Gaskets with Oval and Octagonal cross sections will be used in flat bottom flange grooves machined for type R Octagonal ring gasket. Therefore, they are interchangeable for the same gasket reference number.

R Type ring Gasket – OVAL shape

In this type the cross section of the gasket will be machined to Oval shape.

These gaskets are made to standard specification API 6A / ASME B16.20 to suit to API 6B and ASME B16.50 flanges respectively by selecting the material compatible to application and operating service conditions.

R Type ring Gasket - OCTAGONAL shape

In this type the cross section of the gasket will be machined to Octagonal shape.

These gaskets are manufactured to meet API 6A / ASME B16.20 standards to suit to API 6B and ASME B16.50 flanges respectively by selecting the material compatible to application and operating service conditions.

RX Type RTJ - Pressure energised ring Gasket

RX Type ring joint gaskets are designed with specific modification to the standard R type ring gasket. This change in design in its cross section enables the tightness of the RX ring type gasket seated in the flange groove to increase during pressurisation by improving the sealing efficiency.. Therefore, self sealing effect will be achieved during pressurisation which makes this design as pressure energised gasket. Pressure passage holes will be drilled in the RX type RTJ gaskets for some of the gasket reference numbers as per standard specified requirement. Thrust pressure equalisation in that flange pair is ensured by providing this pressure balancing hole.

These gaskets are manufactured to meet API 6A / ASME B16.20 standards to suit to API 6B and ASME B16.50 flanges respectively and are designed up to 5000 psi pressure.

RX type RTJ ring gaskets are interchangeable with R type Oval and Octagonal gasket with the same identical reference number using the flange machined with flat bottom for that RTJ Octagonal gasket.

BX Type RTJ - Pressure energised ring Gasket

BX type ring Gaskets are designed and manufactured to the standards ASME B 16- 20 , API 6A and API 17 D and assembled in API 6 BX flanges. Pressure passage holes as per standard specified pattern and requirement will be drilled in all BX gaskets The speciality of the BX ring type Gasket assembly is by applying full torque the Flange pair will virtually close making the gasket fully confined both at its inner and outer diameters.

The stringent requirement of smooth seating surface finish of the gasket specified in the standard maximum to 0.8 µm Ra (32 µin RMs) will ensure the tight, perfect and full seating of the gasket in the contacting faces of the flange groove will ensure leak free joint at very high pressure service. BX type ring gaskets are designed to use for special applications involving high pressure up to 20,000psi. BX type ring gasket is assembled only in the API 6 BX flange grooves exclusively machined for that Gasket.

SBX TYPE RTJ GASKET

API SBX type RTJ gasket is dimensionally identical in all aspects to API BX type ring gaskets. API SBX type RTJ gaskets are designed and manufactured as per API 17 D standard and specification. The suffix S is marked to identify these API SBX type RTJ gaskets are used for special applications like Subsea, under water service, Well head and Tree equipment and also for all other highly corrosive and very high pressure applications.

All API SBX type RTJ gaskets will have pressure balance hole along with interconnecting vent hole in the pattern as specified in API 17 D standard. The Vent hole is provided to prevent the pressure more particularly when assembled in underwater services.

Selection of compatible material to manufacture API SBX type RTJ gasket is very vital as they have to face the continuous presence of highly corrosive mediums and operate in very critical services like subsea under water applications and others. API SBX type RTJ gaskets are designed to use for special applications involving high pressure up to 20,000psi.. SBX type RTJ gasket is assembled only in the API 6 BX flange grooves exclusively machined for that Gasket.

SPECIAL TYPE RING GASKET

STYLE R AND RX RTJ WITH PTFE INSERT

IGP R and RX Ring Type Joint gaskets are with PTFE inserts. The insert will be located between the inside diameter of the Ring Type Joint gasket and the bore of the flange. By tightening the bolt the trapped PTFE insert will also be compressed along with the RTJ gasket and fully and tightly fill the annular space between the flange bore and the ID of the RTJ gasket.

Specially introduced PTFE insert serves to reduce the turbulent flow and avoid the corrosion and erosion of the gasket and the flange face by filling the gap between gasket ID and Flange bore and preventing to come in to contact with the medium handled.

IX SEAL RING

IX Seal Ring gaskets are designed and used in the assembly of NORSOK Compact Flange connections (NCF). The special feature of the compact flange assembled with IX Seal Ring gasket is that the initial gap existed between flanges faces will be closed on tightening the bolts to targeted torque achieving absolute seating of the gasket at the sealing surface of the flange groove.

Selection of compatible material is very important to effectively address critical and corrosive services and applications. IGP -IX Seal Ring gaskets are available in various materials compatible to the applications and operating services. IX seal ring gaskets with PTFE coated and Silver coated and MoS2 coated as per ISO 27509 specification are available with IGP. IX Seal Ring gaskets are identified and marked as per NORSOK STANDARD L -005 (NCF5) at the inside of the ring.

LENS RINGS

IGP Lens Ring Gasket is available in accordance with DIN2696 standard. On specific requirement non standard Lens Ring gasket are also available as per customer provided detailed drawing and requirement.

Generally Lens Ring gasket are produced from Carbon steel and different grades of stainless steels.

On specific requirement IGP Lens Ring gasket is also manufactured and supplied in other materials as specified by the customer.

RUBBER COATED RTJ

In this special design solid metal RTJ gasket will be enclosed with rubber coating making rubber as the sealing material by tightly seating in the flange groove. Mostly Rubber coated RTJ gaskets are used for pressure testing.

The testing will be done with lower bolt torque causing no damage to the gasket Seating grooves in the flanges. Normally Rubber coated RTJ material will be soft iron or low carbon material.

IGP Rubber coated RTJ gaskets are available in other RTJ materials also.

TRANSITION RTJ GASKET

IGP Transition RTJ gaskets are available to use in RTJ Flange assembly pairs with the cross section of the gasket seating groove in each of the flange machined to suit to different RTJ reference number but maintaining the same pitch circle diameter of the gasket.

IGP Transition RTJ gaskets are available with either octagonal or oval shape to any size combinations machined from any materials.

BLIND RTJ GASKET

IGP Blind Ring joint gaskets are available to blank off the line with integral middle plate. In this Blind RTJ gasket the height of the RTJ gasket will be more to provide the thickness of the integral blank off blind flange plate. IGP Blind RTJ gaskets are available in all size and in all standard and exotic materials.

IGP Orifice RTJ gaskets are available with the orifice hole in the middle of this integral plate to either restrict the flow or measure the flow.

SOFT MATERIAL SHEATHED RTJ GASKET

IGP Soft material sheathed RTJ Gasket is with its sealing surface layered with soft material. This helps to effectively seal even slightly damaged flanges or when the gaskets are required to be reused on specific requirement. Normally used soft material in the Soft material sheathed gasket is Flexible graphite and Vermiculite.

On specific requirement IGP Soft material sheathed gaskets are available with any other sheathing soft material.

IGP Soft material sheathed RTJ Gasket is available in all size and in all standards. The maximum operating temperature of the Soft material sheathed RTJ Gasket is limited to the material of construction of solid metal and that of the layered soft material.

R type with grooves machined and soft material sheathed

IGP R type gaskets with octagonal shape are specially constructed by grooves machined in the flange seating taper surfaces in both inner and outer diameters of the R gasket and also that surface will be layered with soft material. This helps to effectively seal slightly damaged flanges or when the gaskets are required to be reused on specific occasions.

RX type with grooves machined and soft material sheathed

IGP RX type gaskets are specially constructed by grooves machined in the flange seating both top and bottom taper surfaces in the outer diameter of the RX gasket and that surface will be layered with soft material. This helps to effectively seal even slightly damaged flanges or when the gaskets are required to be reused on specific occasions.

BRIDGEMAN GASKET

IGP Bridgeman Gaskets are machined from solid rings with special cross section to perform as pressure activated self energised seal specifically required in pressure vessels and high pressure valves applications. Essentially the sealing surface of the gasket needs to be soft to yield , freely adopt, flow and fill, and be tight with the flange face.

DELTA GASKET

IGP Delta Gaskets are machined from solid rings with special cross section to perform as pressure activated self energised seal specifically required in pressure vessels and high pressure applications for operating pressure exceeding 5000 psi more particularly for bonnet valve applications. Essentially the sealing surface of the gasket needs to be soft to freely adopt, flow and fill, and be tight with the flange face.
